IDEA

The idea of the Global Biometrics Council is to disseminate and support the development of biometrics and to promote its application in innovative AI (artificial intelligence) technology and cyber security. The Association is an organization of distinguished experts, scientists and enthusiasts from various fields of biometrics and biometric solutions present in our daily lives. We are committed to promote knowledge in the field of biometrics technology and cyber security and to initiate social dialogue.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to educate the public about biometrics, to get them interested in biometrics, and to invite experts and scientists from all over the world to join the dialogue in order to spread and level the knowledge about biometrics, AI and cyber security.

We believe that biometrics is the answer to many problems of the modern world. It makes us feel safer – it is used in many areas of life, but above all it is the most effective and safest method of human identification and authentication of all currently available methods. GBC aim is to develop the knowledge and awareness of society in the field of biometrics, especially in the area of identification, identity verification and authorization and broadly understood cyber security.

WORLD BIOMETRICS DAY

Therefore, we want to celebrate the Biometric Day that we have registered in the global calendar as the 8th of October, to promote biometrics as a permanent part of the future. The first celebration of World Biometrics Day was planned for 2020, but unfortunately due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the first celebration took place in 2021, please visit: www.globalbiometricscouncil.com/en.

This year the event will take place at the Curtin University Dubai, October 7th 2022.

Scientific articles will be published (subject to review procedure) as book chapters in one of the international (Scopus Indexes) Publishers. Biometrics Day will be a great opportunity to share the ideas, knowledge and experience.

biometrics is a key technology for various area. It has also legal challenges that weare facing. What are the most important legal challenges from the European
perspective? We see biometrics are used in many business models as well as in the area of public services. What are the trends in biometrics, where the technology is already used and where will be used in the nearest future? What are the key challenges from technology perspective? Are we ready to implement solutions from society (so massive) perspective?

Start-up Speakers /Representatives of many different start-ups will present the idea of their companies that uses biometric systems in many ways (each Start -up will have 10 minutes for the presentation).

II. Panel: Future of Biometrics - Finance sector approach
Experts and Representatives of finance sector (banks, firms, companies and other organizations of finance sector) will discuss about the biometrics chances and threats and opportunities.
