It’s not everyday that you’re given an opportunity to experience a tete-a-tete with Halima Jumani – Director and part of the founding family of Kibsons, but most importantly, a mother, entrepreneur and leading female figure in business in Dubai.
Last week, TishTash Marketing and PR Agency generously extended an invite to our student community to attend a Q & A session with Ms Jumani. The session was hosted by Polly Williams, the Managing Director at TishTash.
This was an exciting opportunity, as students were able to listen to them discuss Kibson’s journey from being a B-2-B, to including a B-2-C model in a short span of 3 years. They also discussed challenges the business faced during COVID and how these were overcome. Two USPs stood out for us as consumers who are students on tight budgets: the first being that they have blueberries that cost single digits (AED 9 for a box); the second being that they have meal prep kits that are easy to order and prepare as opposed to eating out or relying on an external meal plan.
It was particularly inspiring to know that her children get involved in the social media and operations – as Curtin University students, we pride ourselves in getting real world experience while pursuing our education, as this gives us a greater understanding of what to expect in the real world. Thank you TishTash for the invite!
They recently shared a post on instagram for internship opportunities – check your student emails for more information.
