Curtin University Dubai, the highest ranked Australian university operating a full campus in Dubai, is hosting an Escape Room at its Dubai International Academic City campus from Friday 10 August to Friday 31 August 2018. This initiative of the Curtin Dubai Student Experience Team, the Curtin Dubai Student Council, and the Curtin Dubai Foundation Program Faculty allows people from the community to apply their analytical and critical thinking skills to solve puzzles and “Find the Missing Assignment” and thereby escape.

Professor John Evans, Pro Vice-Chancellor of Curtin University Dubai said: “As Curtin Dubai is strongly focused on engineering and computer science, having an escape room that requires the use of analytical skills and creativity gives potential students a good preview of some of the exciting things they would do in these fields.”
Ms Olivia Adkins, Program Coordinator – Curtin Dubai Foundation Program, Teaching and Learning Coordinator, and Student Experience Coordinator who developed this innovate experience on campus said: “The Curtin Dubai Escape Room gives the unique opportunity to showcase our campus’ commitment to delivering a richly interactive student experience and excellence in innovation. I am looking forward to welcoming our new students this September, and to working with the Foundation and Curtin Life teams to bring more exciting activities on campus.”
The escape room is attempted by individuals or teams of two at a time and the teams that have the best times will win prizes. All participating teams will receive gift bags with products, vouchers or merchandise from the sponsors. The inspiration for the escape rooms comes from one of the sponsors, Hungarian Games Dubai. The grand prize sponsors are Radisson Blu Dubai Silicon Oasis, Uninest Student Residences, and Tee & Putt Mini-Golf Dubai. The event is also sponsored and supported by Dubai International Academic City, Student Hub and Fine Hygienic Holdings. Any individuals or teams of two over the age of 13 are invited to participate, but spaces are limited.
