Curtin Dubai Global Immersion: GLS University, India

A cohort of 24 students from GLS University in India visited Curtin Dubai and spent an eventful 2 weeks as a part of an Immersion Program. During the course of their stay, they attended workshops on Management across Cultures, Financial Instruments and International Accounting, among various other trending business topics. Industry visits during their stay included trips to Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA); Dubai Technology Entrepreneurship Centre; and Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park that enabled students to learn about how large organisations run their daily operations.

“We are thankful to Curtin University, Dubai for giving us such a wonderful opportunity. The Immersion Program helped us gain insight into varied topics. We were also given valuable career guidance to further our growth. One of the best things, for me, was the activities we took part in during our workshops. These practical activities helped us comprehend the topics easily”, said Omic Desai, student of GLS University, currently pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce degree.

Devansh Shah, pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce degree at GLS University added, “I am thankful to Curtin University Dubai for letting me be a part of their International Immersion Program. From the very first day, we were immensely comfortable in the campus. Every faculty made theory learning fun by making us prepare different presentations. This helped us polish our soft skills and enhanced our critical thinking abilities. I foresee opting to pursue a Master’s degree at Curtin Dubai in the near future.”
