Curtin University Dubai was proud to be the lead sponsor for the annual GETEX Counsellors Forum 2019. Over 40 counsellors from schools across UAE attended the event. Ten insightful seminars were organized during the day for the attendees. The presentations were delivered by industry experts, high school counsellors, and highly qualified educational consultants. Industry expert Mr. Daniel Adkins, presented a session on ‘Providing Comprehensive Advice to Students on Higher Education Options’.
With the highest number of attendees, Mr Adkins’ talk stressed the importance of choosing the right program of study after high school, understanding accreditations and professional recognitions associated with university programs, making the right choice of study destination, and maximizing the students return on their investment of time and money into education. He showcased Dubai as a safe and excellent city for higher education. He also discussed the post degree education benefits associated with pursuing programs in the UAE, USA, Australia, Canada and other countries across the globe and gave counsellors an insight into correctly guiding students in their career choices.
