All our open weeks come include engaging and informative webinars to provide the audience with topics that will be useful for them. This time, we decided to work with two topics that really resonates during the current pandemic. “How to stand out digitally” and “Student life during a pandemic”.
How to stand out digitally” was conducted by Huma Afreen, our HR Executive, and Shweta Wahi, our Liaison Officer. They gave advice and coached the attendees on topics like, how to make your Linkedin profile stand out, writing a professional CV/Cover letter, how to build and nurture your website/blog, and most importantly, personal branding.
The session “Student life in a pandemic” was taken on by Karishni Damania, our Student Experience and Careers Officer and one of our top Engineering students, Keerthana Sekaran.
They spoke about internships, Career Fairs, the Curtin Dubai Speaker series, the individual careers counselling offered by the careers department, what is e-learning like, how to focus on your work when you are not physically on campus, and took on a thorough Q&A session with the attendees
