Curtin Dubai signs MOU with CISCO Networking Academy

Curtin University Dubai School recently signed a MoU with CISCO Networking Academy Middle East that will allow Curtin students pursuing the BSc degree in Computing – Information Technology, and BSc degree in Computer Systems and Networking to take the CISCO Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification courses during their studies.

Curtin Dubai newly appointed Program Chair for the Faculty of Science and Engineering, Dr Pon Selvan said: “These certifications validate a professional’s ability to understand, configure, operate and troubleshoot medium-level switched and routed networks and also includes the verification and implementation of connections via remote sites using Wide Area Networks”

The CCNA certification will broadly cover courses in:

  • Wide Area Network (WAN) and Local Area Network (LAN) design
  • Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) models
  • Internet Protocol (IP) addressing
  • Virtual local area network (VLAN) and Wireless Local area network (WLAN)
  • Routers / routing protocols including Enhanced Interior Gateways
  • Routing Protocol (EIGRP), Routing Information Protocol (RIP) and Open Shortest Path First (OSPF)
  • Network security and management which includes Access Control List (ACL)
