Curtin Dubai wrapped up its annual Winter Camp and Internship program last month, which were packed with fun and educational sessions for secondary school students in the UAE.

These virtual camp and internship programs run twice a year and are designed for high school students who want to distinguish themselves by gaining experience, whilst also understanding career opportunities linked with their future field of study. This edition included three soft-skills workshops a day in addition to a few hours dedicated to internship-related tasks.

These programs always reached capacity within the first few days of registration, as they have now built a reputation as a great learning opportunity, particularly as high school students were unable to take on physical internships and in-person workshops due to COVID. Reflecting the nature of Curtin’s compact class sizes, the program is capped with a limited number of virtual seats so students receive personal attention through the workshops and the internship.

Examples of sessions held include: ‘Top 5 things to do as an intern’, ‘Achieving success in student life’, ‘How to handle interviews’, ‘Becoming your own brand’, ‘Event management for beginners’, and ‘Digital Marketing for students’. Each was created to develop and enlighten students’ minds and expand their abilities.

General feedback from students was very positive, and the overall rating received on the program was ‘Highly Satisfied’.

Curtin Dubai invites students to join its Summer Camp and Internship Program from July 2022 to August 2022. These experiences are solely for the benefit and enrichment of the students, who will graduate with fond memories, new friends, a plethora of new skills, and certificates of completion. Keep in touch for future announcements on how to register.
